The @IMFNews team including Jesmin Rahman ( Mission Chief) is on a mission in Uganda to review progress being made under the extended credit facility backed economic program.
During the opening meeting of this 5th Review Mission yesterday,Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, Patrick Ocailap said good progress has been made regarding the structural reforms agreed upon with @IMFNews under this program.
“The government recognises the significant and supportive role that the IMF has played in ensuring continued recovery from the effects of Covid-19 pandemic and many other external shocks,” said Ocailap.
Approx. USD 720 million has been disbursed to Uganda under the extended credit facility & this money has enabled Gov’t to meet its expenditure obligations,including support to the vulnerable as well as spending on social sectors of education and health.
